From my mother's estate...
Compact/makeup kit in a dark brown cloth case. Mirror and comb intact. Includes tiny lipstick. One compartment still contains powder and powder puff. Second compartment empty. The only damage I could find is frame bent up slightly at over powder compartment. There's a bit of dirt that you may choose to clean off. Everything functions as it should, except I couldn't open the lipstick.
I "fairly certain" that this case is brass, but I'm not an expert. I didn't find a manufacturer's name.
I don't know the era, but my mother was born in 1930, so it's probably 1940s or 1950s.
I do NOT clean my collectibles, and I'm sure my mother didn't either. This case has some dirt, especially on one side. I'll let you decide how to deal with that.
Note: the case is shiny. Shiny enough to produce a ton of glare in all my photos, so the last image is a scan.
