In the Middle Ages, cathedrals and castles first appeared towering small town and villages of feudal Europe. Medieval architects and stonemasons carved mythological creatures called Gargoyles to adorn the tops of buildings. gargoyles were deliberately placed very high, in a sense between heaven and earth, so that they would look down at our activities and laugh at our human frailties. Today , Gargoyles act as "guardians" of our homes and gardens, warding off bad luck and bringing good fortune to all.
