Miniature Resin Insulator Key Ring
CD 202 replica on state of Nevada - approximately 1" in width
These were made and distributed by an early Ohio Valley Insulator Club member, Robert Fast, of Columbus, Ohio. He crafted the molds and made multiple colors of many miniature resin insulators, insulator jewelry and keyrings. Our family members were regular attendees of the Ohio and surrounding state's shows where Bob had his miniatures for sale. Our kids looked forward to purchasing the latest or a different color of "Mr. Fast's Insulators".
It is remarkable that the nuances of the real insulators were captured in such a small mold. Most of the insulators are marked with either the name of the insulator or the show where it was first introduced or produced to commemorate the show. This keyring was made and sold at the 9th NIA Convention in Reno, Nevada in 1979.
These are just a part of the 1970's era history of the insulator collecting hobby in the mid-west.
