Measuring Tape
This is an early 1950's vintage measuring tape, from Stanley of the USA, a 'Defiance' No 1260 Automatic Rule, with Pressed Steel case, Black/Grey powder coated (or similar), Spring Loaded Auto retrieve button, and a Black on Silver 6ft tape with increments at 1/32", 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2"and 1".
The Tape measure has been used but condition is Excellent with no structural damage. The outer surfaces show friction, a spot of surface corrosion, a tiny scratch and bump or 2, as expected, and some light plating wear. The tape extracts and retrieves smoothly. It shows only light friction and paint wear, and 1 kink at approx 1 3/8".
The reel has a diameter of 52mm (2") and weighs approx 84g or 3oz.
1 side is marked 'Defiance by Stanley, No 1260, 6 Feet, Made in USA', the other 'Automatic Rule, Snub Blade, Avoid Snap Back'.
