INK WELL, HEN/BRASS /PAINTED/FROM CHINA

I am selling a collection of items for a woman who just recently passed away.
I will be starting all the bids at $ .99 with no reserve.

This auction is for an ink well in the shape of a hen.
This lady did a lot of traveling and and would write or leave a note as to the place of purchase.
Inside this little ink well she wrote "ink well from China".
The material of this item is a brass with a teal coated material on the inside.
The outside, I would say, is painted with gold, white and black.
It does not appear to have ever been used.
It is a cool item, but it has no markings on it to describe the designer or manufacturer.

I know nothing about ink wells...but this is a very nice piece for someone who is interested in this type of item.
