SMALL AX OR HATCHET WITH SPARE HEAD----NO RESERVE
ANTIQUE BAG AX , TOY OR SALESMEN'S SAMPLE- | Seller: jingle-bob ( 1962 ) End Time: 2008-08-09 20:58:09 GMT Bids: 14 Current Price: $19.50 Location: THE HEART OF THE NAVAJO NATION Time Left: 0 Seconds | | | For More Details: Click here | I'm thinning our my trade ax collection a bit.I really like small bag ax sized pieces & have several in my collection. When I bought this offering,I thought it might be a small bag ax.The more I examined it though, the more I thought it might be a toy or a salesmen's sample.I do have a couple of 19th century "baggies" that are close to this size,,,so I'll let the specs & pics do the talking. The head(s) on this piece measure 2 5/8" by 1 5/8" across the bit.The hafted ax measures 8 7/8" overall with the original haft in outstanding condition. The hafted ax does have some gold paint remaining on the head.I can't tell if this is some overspray residue or if someone purposely painted this ax.Should be no problem removing this paint with a solvent. This is a no reserve auction so,,,one bid or one hundred,,,this item will have a new owner. Thanks for stoppin' in and takin' a look.
