As many of you know, I used to sell some of the most rare antique combination locks on Ebay, for several years. Due to eBay's new bizarre and harmful policy changes, I've nearly stopped.
I have a few pieces I thought I'd put online, and see if eBay still "works" or not.
This is a very nice lock, possibly one of a kind. The body seems to be made from cast iron, and the wheels are brass. The wheels spin as they should, but I do not know the combination.
I'm an American, but travel to China quite often, searching for unique antique items, which I used to sell on eBay (but now mostly send to "real" auctions). I have found several rare locks in China in the past, but I do not believe most of them are actually Chinese in origin. Many countries brought a lot of equipment to China over the years, especially in the 1800's and early 1900's, to build railroads, and develop other industries. If I had to guess, I would think that the lock is European in origin.
